The Sun Loft 47 is a design concept of Jeanneau and Philippe Briand, primarily known for designing large and luxurious yachts as well as iconic America’s Cup race boats, in response to specific demands from charter clients.
Based on the lines of the Sun Odyssey 490, the Sun Loft 47 was conceived as a “mono-cat”, offering plenty of the open space found on catamarans, while retaining the sensations of a sailing monohull. The result is an incredibly spacious monohull with accommodations for 12 where entertaining family and friends has never been easier.

Some of the key features of the cockpit include a very spacious area with seating for 12 guests or more that converts to daybeds; an easy-to-operate bimini top that offers plenty of shade or sun as desired (and can also be completely closed if the weather conditions require it); a huge open galley directly adjoining the cockpit.
Additionally, the yacht offers excellent access to the water thanks to a large swim platform, and high lifelines and coaming provide a good feeling of security especially when sailing with children. The Sun Loft 47 has already proven to be very fun to sail, with the initial sea trials conducted with great success by Jeanneau off the coast of Marseille in June. Its beam is carried all the way aft for speed and the boat only heels by up to 15 degrees.
