We're excited to announce that Navigare Yachting is launching an exciting auction of sailing charters with special offers and last minute deals up to 60% off!

The auction takes place every other Wednesday starting at 5pm US Eastern Time. This auction will focus primarily on Caribbean charters in The Bahamas or The British Virgin Islands, but may include other destinations. Bids will be made in US Dollars ($). Every auction will take place online via live webinar and is expected to last 30-45 minutes.

Registration is required, please REGISTER HERE

Upon registration, you will automatically receive the weekly list of charters offered before each auction. Your participation is completely optional -- but there are opportunities you simply won’t want to miss!

Our flexible postponement policy will give you the peace of mind to start planning, knowing you can reschedule if a travel ban prevents your charter.

    1. Lineup of charters offered for auction

The following sailing charters are offered in the upcoming auction. Listed price is bareboat yacht charter price before mandatory Navigare Carefree and Cruising Tax where applicable. No damage waiver, no security deposit!

Our next auction will take place on Wednesday, January 27: Register here

Lineup coming soon - stay tuned!

    2. Do I need sailing experience?

Bareboat means you will skipper your charter yacht (we will review and approve your sailing resume for BVI & The Bahamas; in the Med, we need to have a copy of your sailing license/certification for approval by the local cruising authorities), but you have the possibility to hire a skipper - no sailing experience necessary!

You may also hire a cook for a truly hands-off holiday!

    3. How does bidding work?

Participation in the auction requires registration to our weekly series:

WEDNESDAY AUCTION at 5pm Eastern Time: Register here

Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to join. You'll also receive an email reminder 1 hour prior to each weekly auction with the link to click to join.

Using the instructions provided in the registration confirmation, participants will join the live auction on the auction date and time using a computer, tablet or smart phone. Every charter yacht up for auction will be detailed before the bidding starts.

Bidding will be done by live chat in increments of $200 until the reserve price is met. To place a bid, the participant will send a chat to the host with their bid amount at or above the starting bid. The host will read the bid for all participants to hear, and wait for the next bid (higher by at least $200). Bidding by phone is not possible, participants must join the online event to bid.

When no higher bid is received within 20 seconds or so, and the reserve is met, the charter will be awarded to the highest bidder.

If the reserve is not met, the charter up for auction will be dropped, and the next charter will be auctioned off.

    4. Do I need to participate in every weekly auction?

You do not need to enter in every weekly auction after registration. You will receive the lineup of charters up for auction in the upcoming event, and can then decide if you wish to join and bid.

If you are unable to attend the live auction and wish to place a bid, please contact our booking manager Lisa Nichols who will bid on your behalf.

    5. Are the dates flexible?

For each charter offered during our live auction, we will present the yacht (photos, equipment, layout, etc.) and the dates proposed.

Some dates are set, meaning the sailing dates must match the exact dates listed; other dates will be flexible within 3 days before or after the charter timeframe listed -- you can firm you your date at the time you submit your deposit after the auction ends.

    6. Where and when do the charters depart?

For the British Virgian Islands: Charters depart from our base in Nanny Cay, on Tortola island which is accessible through St Thomas (STT) or Beef Island (EIS) airports.

    • Check in: 4pm on your charter starting date.
    • Check out: 10am on your charter end date.

For The Bahamas: Charters depart from our NEW base in Marsh Harbour, in Abaco, and is easily accessible with connections in many Florida airport and Nassau.

    • Check in: 4pm on your charter starting date.
    • Check out: 10am on your charter end date.

For the Med, please be sure to review our destination pages. In Greece, Croatia, and Spain, only week-long charters are permitted (or multiple weeks) often with same day turnaround therefore:

    • Check in: 5pm on your charter starting date.
    • Check out: 9am on your charter end date. However your vessel must return to the base the evening prior to your disembarkation.

    7. Can I add optional extras like a skipper or a chef?

Optional extras may be added (no discount applicable) up to 30 days prior to departure:

    • BVI or Bahamas Skipper: $225.00 per day + food (Skipper requires own cabin + food).
    • BVI or Bahamas Cook: $200.00 per day + food (Cook requires own cabin + food).

Other extras like VIP checkin (starting at 12pm), checkout skipper, etc. are subject to availability and you may request them at the time you submit your deposit after the auction ends.

    8. What is the payment schedule?

For every charter offered at auction, a deposit of 50% of the total charter cost is due within 24 hours of the auction ending. Your final balance is due 40 days before your embarkation date.

Please note: if you do not follow through on your purchase after the auction, Navigare reserves the right to prevent you from bidding on future charter auctions.

    9. Are there any other costs?

Your total charter cost will be: yacht price (auction price) + Navigare Carefree Pack (including your yacht insurance/damage waiver) + Cruising Tax if applicable (in BVI: $6 per person and per day).

The most notable benefit of the Carefree Pack is that it includes the insurance coverage of your yacht. So you won’t need to pay for a security deposit at the base, or pay for a deductible in case of damage to the yacht or its equipment during your charter.

Remember that in addition to your charter cost, you will need to plan for your travels to our base.

For BVI, it will probably be through St Thomas (STT) or Beef Island (EIS) airports. You will also need to budget for provisioning (food & beverages, ice, and consumables for the duration of your charter), mooring fees, yacht fuel and gratuity for hired crew.

    10. What is the cancelation policy?

Please note that auctioned charters are NON REFUNDABLE.

Beside this rule, our Navigare terms and conditions apply along with some accommodations due to possible travel restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic:
