Sailing Credentials

A formal sailing license and VHF license are required for at least one crew member. If you want to verify the eligibility of your sailing credentials and license eligibility, feel free to contact us.

Note for US clients: NauticEd SLC and ASA are recognized and accepted throughout Europe. For ASA, to charter a boat up to 30 tons, you need to have a Bareboat Chartering level (ASA 104). For above 30 tons (i.e. Lagoon 450 and more extensive) Advanced Coastal Cruising (ASA 106) is required. The NauticEd SLC is sufficient for all boats provided it lists the correct type, tonnage, and length.

It is recommended that you book your crew from Navigare at the time you confirm your booking to ensure availability, and no later than 30 days before departure as we cannot guarantee crew assignments on short notice.

When booking your charter and hiring crew, you must reserve one berth for each crew member and provide them with access to a head if not available in the dedicated crew berth. When planning your provisions and budget, also remember that you are responsible for providing meals or the cost of food ashore for your crew.

Gratuity is encouraged for excellent service at the discretion of the client.

Provisioning

With a bareboat charter, it is the responsibility of the charterer to take care of provisioning for their guests and crew (skipper and/or cook) through a local supermarket or dedicated provision service. The majority of cooks welcome the opportunity to shop or place the order for you as a client so they can pick the produce themselves. If the client requests this service of the crew, the client acknowledges that this service is beyond the scope of their responsibility; any assistance outside of the charter time should be discussed with the cook.

Fishing Permits

Guests who wish to fish from a Navigare boat may do so by purchasing a personal fishing license. Purchase online here. 

Extras through Navigare

Optional extras can be added to your booking and may include: gennaker, railing net, inflatable life vests and jackstay, extra linen and towels, stand-up paddle board, and adrenaline pack (two donuts, wakeboard, pair of water skis, bigger rib with a stronger 50 HP outboard engine).

Note: Adrenaline pack can't be used in Italian territorial waters.
