FAQ

For traveling to BVI and Bahamas having a passport valid for at least 6 months after your return date is necessary. As well as returning plane/boat tickets.

For traveling to Croatia, Greece, and Spain you need to have a passport or national ID card valid for at least 3 months after your return date.

The cruise is not exclusive to English travelers so it is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board.
However, crew members are required to be English-speaking, although they tend to be multilingual and can speak other languages in addition to English.

All the skippers that we offer are qualified, have all the necessary professional licenses, and speak fluent English. The skipper is in charge of navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to try out some of the simple maneuvers with him; he will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing. The skipper is not in charge of cooking or washing up.
Regarding sleeping arrangements, the skipper will sleep on board, either in a cabin or in the common area (saloon).

A hostess (or cook) will prepare your meals, clean the saloon area and the cabins, and make sure the boat is kept tidy.

Although it is not standard with the cabin charter package, we offer as an additional service arranging transfers from and to the airport or marina.

It depends on the weather. When the winds are strong, the skipper will use the sails to sail silently. On days with calmer winds or to reach the stopovers on schedule, the skipper may need to use the engine. The engine is also used when entering and leaving the marinas. Although we cannot guarantee a minimum time for using the sails, the skipper will do their best to use the sails as much as possible and involve passengers in maneuvers.

BVI and The Bahamas

During your cruise, you benefit from the full board package, including breakfasts, lunches, and dinners per day. Softs and alcoholic beverages are also included (depending on availability).

Croatia, Greece, and Spain

During your cruise, you will benefit from the half-board formula, including breakfasts and lunches. These will be organized and prepared by the hostess/cook. All dinners will be at your expense, you are free to plan your dinner according to your preferences. The alcoholic drinks offered on the boat are sometimes at an additional cost.

*Note

The skipper and the hostess will be able to advise you on good local restaurants according to your desires and tastes. Double-check the terms and conditions of your quote. Your advisor will be able to provide you with the menus offered on board on request. They are often prepared with fresh, local products. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you are following a special diet.

The visits and excursions mentioned in the itinerary are suggestions, as such, we cannot guarantee their availability or communicate the prices to you. The choice and organization of the visits will be made directly on-site with your skipper. He will be able to advise you to guide you according to your expectations.

To confirm your booking you should inform your sales agent who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.

The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than 60 days before departure.

The balance should be paid no later than 60 days before boarding. Mandatory extras and options will be payable locally. Be sure to check with your advisor or the base before departure.

If you make a cancellation:

  • More than 120 days before the departure date, a cancellation fee of 15% of the charter fee applies or 950 EURO, whichever is greater.
  • Between 119 to 60 days before the departure date, Navigare has the right to retain 50% of the charter fee.
  • 59 days or less before the departure date, Navigare has the right to retain 100% of the charter fee.
  • If the cancellation is due to objective reasons (death in the family or the charter’s heavy injury), the paid price will not be refunded but you will be given a cabin at your disposal for another free period or within the next sailing season,
  • In any other case, Navigare is not obliged to return the Charterer amount paid under this Contract.
  • In the event of cancellation by the charter company due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., mechanical failure, adverse weather conditions) or fewer than 2 cabins being booked for the said period, a full refund or alternative dates will be offered.
